Future
Across my master, three threads recurred separately through my projects: designing for overlooked users, embodied and tangible interaction, and light as a communication modality. My FMP is where these came together: a neurodivergent user group in shared offices, supported by peripheral light without demanding attention, responding to tangible and embodied input such as turning the head away rather than to explicit controls. Through this I recognise myself as a designer who turns user understanding into tangible, inclusive interventions.

Looking ahead, I want to develop in a few directions. Where an FMP is necessarily short, I want longer-term projects where I can develop a design all the way through, for instance to fully resolve how a medium like light is realised and experienced. I also want to plan expertise more deliberately, deciding not only who to involve but at what stage, and to work in a more structured way through the creative process, since this is where I can come across as scattered. I see myself doing this in a research and development role, where an unfamiliar problem space is explored, defined, and turned into something tangible. I prefer doing this within a motivated team, because collaborating helps me challenge assumptions and raise the quality of ideas (PI/V).
AI- statement
During the writing of this portfolio generativeAI tools (Claude byAnthropicand) were used to support writing and editing. The designer used these tools to rewrite sentences for clarity and shorten passages where word count was constrained with prompts such as "canyou rewrite this for me" or "can you shorten this and indicate what you left out". All output was reviewed, edited, and approved by the designer.
